After reading this book, for the first time in my life I can be sad and not feel like I am suffering. That’s a distinction I never understood before. Everything isn’t perfect, but with the help of this method I feel more and more grounded every day. I’m making very different choices than I have in the past, choices that reflect better self-respect and self-care. I feel more in control and am confident that I have a happy future ahead.

I just finished this book and I am so psyched to get started with my self love plan. I already do meditation but the suggested method of self inquiry in this book takes my meditation to a whole new level. I am reminded again that I can love myself and heal. The author's tone is so loving and encouraging. I can hear her voice of kindness lingering in my heart. I feel like I have an effective new tool for tackling my emotional roadblocks in life.

Generally, I am skeptical when it comes to self-help books. My familiarity with Yudit Maros' masterful ability to connect us with ourselves, made me take a chance on this one, and I'm grateful for doing so. The tools Ms. Maros shares in her newly published Apple of My I, have the capacity to change our lives. Ms. Maros takes us on a journey of self-discovery and emotional healing. Using the simple acronym, A, B, C, D, she teaches us how to pay attention and listen to, accept and learn from the signals our body gives us - indicators of our deepest, underlying needs. She instructs us to breathe into these sensations and the discomfort they may elicit - without judgement, and to release the pain they carry. We are guided through the process of discovering how to communicate with and understand the meaning of these signals; and ultimately how to determine and to deliver what we need most.
Inside these pages are tools to help us develop a life-long practice of tuning in and responding to, rather than ignoring or suppressing, our feelings and needs. Ms. Maros gives us techniques that can enable us to overcome inadequate parenting, improve the quality of our relationships, and to become our authentic selves. She provides worksheets, self-assessments, inspiring quotations and clever cartoons to accompany and assist us on our voyages.
I encourage you to give yourself the gift of learning the four practices of self-love. You will be richly rewarded.

I love this book
I love this book! I find myself reading and then rereading sections as I go. I have had a lifelong interest in wholeness and have read many books, but Yudit Maros distills her insights from various areas of study and from her practice as a clinician and creates a warm, practical and clear book with protocols that give me new ways of seeing and being. I find her approach exciting for the positive insights she shares. And she does it with prose that makes the reader feel they are in the room, in conversation with her. I am sharing this book with the most important people in my life...I guess that says everything.
